Hello All,
So, exciting news, carolynskimarie.com has been around for over a year now. And what the transformative year it has been. I will very obviously have to change the objectives of this blog, as my main objective has been met. Recovery from South Dakota, check! I am not sure what the future holds for this blog, but hopefully I can start being a little more diligent about posting at least bi-monthly.
An update from my last post, I am still jobless and I am still watching two kids under the age of 6. However, the kids now have daycare during the weekdays, I volunteer on weekends, so I really only make dinner and put them to bed on week nights sometimes now. I feel bad that I am not spending as much time with them, but I think it’s better this way??? At least they are with kids their age and are probably getting more educational time in, and on the flip side I have time to job hunt.
Life is starting to get busy again. Which we all know is something that I love, and if you have just met me or just stumbled across my blog, I once went 40 days without having a single hour to myself…I went a little crazy towards the end, but needless to say, I crave the chaos of a busy schedule.
Last spring I joined an amazing volunteer organization, and through them I am volunteering at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, which is a blast. I get to escape the mediocrity of life, and slip away to a magical land. I’m not sure what it is that I love most about the Renaissance Festival, the magic, the escape from modernity, or the intricate wordplay that is constantly going on. Describing modern phenomena in Renaissance English is a fun past time. It’s like reading Shakespeare. For those who enjoy the double entendres and silly humor Shakespeare has to offer, I highly suggest going to the Renaissance Festival and engaging in conversation with someone.
I also have a plan for world domination. Okay, so if you know me, I have giant heart, and even though I do an evil laugh when I say that, I really just mean that I love the volunteer organization that I am a part of, and it so happens that we’re an international organization, and I love the world, and I love learning about all the different cultures in the world, and I want to leave the world a better place than I found it, so I’m going to become international president of this organization someday…or sneak my way into the seat that we have at the United Nations…I mean how freakin’ cool is that?! A chair at the United Nations?! Sign me up! I don’t think I was originally going to post this in my blog, but apparently people think it’s cool that I have these goals and are interested in helping me achieve them, and I have strangers asking me about these goals, so time to put my money where my mouth is. Plus, I figure this is a much more realistic goal, compared to my former goal of becoming president of the United States through the Bull-Moose Party in 2028.
Yes, life is going well. I hope all is well with all of you.
Til Next Time,
Carolynski Marie
